The agreement between us.

golf.haptlab.com is operated by HAPT Lab, LLC (合同会社HAPT Lab) of Tokyo, Japan. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean that company, and “you” means anyone using the site.

Using the site means you accept these terms. If you do not, the remedy is simply not to use it.

You may read, share and link to anything here. You may not:

• —Copy our photographs, product renders, drawings or written content for commercial use without written permission.
• —Scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for anyone else.
• —Attempt to break, probe or gain unauthorised access to any part of it.
• —Submit anything through the contact form that is unlawful, or that you do not have the right to send.

Security research is welcome, and we would much rather hear from you than not — write to golf@haptlab.com before testing anything that could affect other visitors.

The HAPT Golf name, the logotype, the product designs, and the photographs and drawings on this site are ours. The engineering published on the Lab is shared so that other people can learn from it, and you are free to build on what you read there — but that is not a licence to reproduce our designs commercially or to use our name on anything you make.

Placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract forms when we confirm the order by email, not when the payment is authorised — and we may decline an order before that point.

We will decline, and refund in full, where:

• —A price or specification was published in error.
• —The run has sold out between your order and our confirmation.
• —We cannot ship to your address, or cannot do so lawfully.
• —We reasonably suspect the order is fraudulent or is for resale in breach of clause 05.

Prices are shown in the currency you select and exclude import duty and local sales tax unless stated at checkout. Runs are limited, made to order, and priced per run — a price you saw on an earlier run does not bind a later one.

These are made in small numbers, and we would rather they reached people who intend to putt with them. We may limit quantities per person, and we may decline orders that appear to be for resale. This is not a restriction on what you do with a putter you own — it is a restriction on how many you can buy from us at once.

We ship from Japan. Delivery estimates are estimates: a made-to-order head has a lead time, and we will tell you what it is before you pay.

Risk passes to you on delivery. If a parcel arrives damaged, tell us within 7 days and we will deal with the courier — do not discard the packaging before we have, because a carrier claim usually fails without it.

You are the importer of record. Duty and local tax are yours to pay, and we cannot predict them for your country.

Returns within 30 days, and a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects. The detail, including what is excluded, is in the refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

We publish measurements — mass, moment of inertia, loft, lie — and we stand behind them as measurements of the object. We do not promise that any club will improve your scoring. Putting is a skill, and no head design substitutes for it.

The site is provided as it is. We aim to keep it accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and specifications may change between runs as the design develops.

Our liability to you for any order is limited to what you paid for it.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. In particular, if you are a consumer, the Consumer Contract Act of Japan voids any clause that would wholly exclude our liability for our own failure to perform — and we do not attempt to.

The Lab documents work in progress, including prototypes that did not work and processes involving machine tools. It is published as a record of what we did, not as instruction. If you follow along, your workshop and your safety are your own responsibility.

We link to YouTube, Instagram and other sites we do not control, and we are not responsible for what is on them.

We may update these terms. The version that applies to an order is the one published when you placed it, and changes are never applied backwards to an order already confirmed. The date at the top of this page says when it last changed.

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and the Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance.

If you are a consumer resident outside Japan, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory law of your own country that applies regardless of this clause.
